What is a Court Administrator? Helpful Information for Those Who Want to Know

This begins a new briefing series on the topic of “what is a court administrator?” In upcoming postings, single topics will be briefly reviewed. This will build upon materials that have been published in the past, including:

1. An Overview of Court Administration in the United States, National Center for State Courts (1997)
2. The Core Competency Curriculum Guidelines, National Association for Court Management (early 2000’s+)
3. The CORE Competencies , National Association for Court Management (2015 to the present)
4. The Court Administrator-A Guide to the Profession, National Association for Court Management (2016)

As is noted in this introductory issue, future postings will cover the history and development of court administrator positions, provide information about court administrator titles and functions, and share insights about court administrator roles within courts. The intent is to have this new publication equip us with new content to talk about the important position of a court administrator.
