This issue begins a new series on the topic of professional competencies. These competencies – knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) – are intended for those who are currently serving as court leaders, those who aspire to be court leaders, and others interested in the work that court leaders perform. Court leaders may perform a wide array of responsibilities to conduct the work of a court and typically draw upon many and varied skills sets.

This new series illustrates a collection of those skill sets, KSAs, that can be informative for court professionals. Some of the KSAs in this series derive from court leadership literature and some come from other sources. The variety of KSAs may be of interest to readers regarding skills to acquire and consider, and practices to use for professional success.

Watch for the next issue, which will begin review of one of the several competency sets indicated in the visual and document below.
